Steph's Lizard World
A place for
wildlife enthusiasts
Transport yourself into their world.
In the sun-drenched climes of South Florida, a miniature world thrives around us. Scurrying through our backyards, across sidewalks, beneath swaying palms, and sprawling banyans, lizards enact ancient dramas as they compete for territory in a rapidly developing area.
Here on this blog, we explore the inconspicuous reptiles that link us to a paradise of biodiversity.
Our mission is to support conservation and education. Join us as we delve into the lives of these remarkable reptiles and discover the untold stories of their hidden world. Along the way, learn how you can identify lizards and responsibly observe them in their habitat. Backed by science, this blog also seeks to highlight the work of the dedicated researchers at our local universities who are contributing to the body of research on lizards.

About
Stephanie Oduardo
Hello and thank you for visiting my website.
I am a native Floridian with a passion for the outdoors. I love spending my time in nature and am an avid rock climber and backpacker. Learning about my local environment and practicing environmental responsibility are core values of mine. My family's long history as beekeepers sparked my interest in the natural world, and I first noticed the diverse lizard species in South Florida after our first hive in Boca Raton revitalized the flora and fauna in the surrounding area.
My educational background is in history and politics, and I now work in IT for law firms. As a hobbyist, I strive to always credit the scientists, ecologists, biologists, and other experts whose work is openly accessible. I do my best to correctly cite the research I rely on to produce the articles you will read on this site.
Steph’s Lizard World is a space for people to learn more about the nature they are surrounded by, whether they live in city like Miami or in the scrublands of central Florida. I do not keep lizards as pets and only research them or observe them in their natural habitats. My goal is to create a place where people can come together, learn, and appreciate these fascinating creatures and feel connected to their environment.
Thank you for visiting, and I hope you find this blog both informative and engaging!
